Our Board Members

DJ is one of our co-founders for Kids for Vets.  He grew up in LeClaire and now lives in Bettendorf with his wife and 2 kids.  When he isn't working at 3M, you can find him with family.  He will be either on the sideline cheering one of his kids on or helping his mom or running around town for Kids for Vets.  We truly appreciate his hard working attitude.  

Emma is one of co-founders for Kids for Vets and serves as our President.  She is a mom, wife, and librarian and so much more.  She is always on the move, from shuffling kids to and from events to getting lemonade stands around town.  We are starting to think she might not sleep.  She has a heart for Christ, kids and Veterans.   

 Christy has been serving on the Kids for Vets board as Secretary since 2021.  When she isn't helping Kids for Vets stay organized she is often with her family, running as chauffeur, or homeschooling her three kids. She has been married to Tony for 16 years and together they serve in Children's Ministry at their church, Coram Deo.  She has a heart for serving veterans and teaching the next generation to do the same. We're grateful to have her on Board. 

Hannah joined our board early in 2023 and serves as our treasurer.  She has been a wonderful addition to the board.  She is our planner, nothing gets away from her watchful eye.  When she isn't serving at Kids for Vets she is probably at home, work or serving at Coram Deo Bible Church. She is generous with her time and her gifts.  We are blessed to have her.

Julie joined the Kids For Vets board in 2024. 

She married her husband, Travis, after boot camp 27 years ago and they’ve been having adventures ever since. Julie, a Bettendorf native, is proud to be a veteran spouse, a homeschooling mom of five daughters, and a breast cancer conqueror. She is excited to be able to serve her military family and community in this new endeavor. 

 Hi there, I'm Liz Huebl.  I'm a mom of 3 amazing kids and a wife to  Mike. When I'm not driving the kids everywhere, I'm running my small  business I recently started. My Dad is a Vietnam vet so I grew up in my  hometown Legion. My first job was waiting tables Friday nights at the VFW fish fry. I am super excited to give back to our veteran community!! 

Casey, a board member of Kids for Vets since 2024, helps with website updates and coordinates rental goods. He’s an owner-operator at K&K Hardware, where his family has built a community-focused business. Married to Hannah Keller and a proud dad to two boys, Zeke and Zach, Casey loves teaching, coaching, and giving back. He is excited to build a shed for Kid's for Vets in 2026

Travis joined the board in 2024.  He is a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He served four years active duty in Security Forces and then transitioned to a civilian career in the Department of Defense. He resigned from DoD in 2015 to come home and start a new life with his family, currently working as a commercial project manager for a security company. In his off time he enjoys spending time with family, painting,and Ice Hockey.
